Digital Health for Underserved Populations: Barriers and Progress
Digital health programs have great potential to improve patient outcomes, but access to digital care is not equitably distributed. Underserved populations, including seniors, patients with low income and patients of color, face many hurdles despite standing to benefit from digital health interventions. There are individual barriers, such as difficulty accessing the Internet or affording medications and devices. But there are also structural barriers on a nationwide scale, from a lack of reimbursement for preventive digital care to a reliance on private health plan sponsorship. In this webinar, we’ll explore the current landscape of digital health for underserved populations, share findings from Propeller programs serving these populations, and host a panel discussion on the existing barriers and opportunities to expand access for all.

Hosted by Meredith Barrett, PhD, VP of Population Health Research at ResMed with panelists:

-Andrey Ostrovsky, MD
a pediatrician and former chief medical officer of U.S. Medicaid
-Linda Hotchkiss, MD
a psychiatrist and former managing medical director at Anthem
-Theresa Guilbert, MD
a pulmonologist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital
